Help with surgery & treatment expenses

Donation protected
For anyone who knows Robin and I, you know we are not the ones who ask for help. About four months ago, we took Ramona (our 4-year-old Pittie mix) to the veterinarian for her annual checkup. Upon her physical exam, the veterinarian palpated a mass along her lower mammary ducts. At the time, the mass was 3x4 inches. We were told that this would need some lab work and an x-ray, biopsy, and surgical removal which we planned our follow-up for. Over the last month, this mass grew substantially. We got her back in to see her veterinarian right away and they wanted to draw labs to check her white blood cells to make sure there was no underlying infection. She was also placed on a course of carprofen (an anti-inflammatory) and clindamycin 300mg with hopes that these medications would lessen whatever was going on. Her vet called us with her lab results last week and her white blood cell count was not high and was a tad lower than normal. They then wanted to obtain an x-ray. She went in for the x-ray on 10/1. The x-ray came back with no significant findings but they did want Ramona to follow up with a surgery consult to find out what this mass is. She went for her surgery consult today and we were told that unfortunately, her mass seems to be a mammary mass. We were given the odds that 50/50 of these are either benign or malignant and based on how rapidly the mass has grown in a short time span, the surgeon has a strong suspicion that hers is, in fact, malignant and of high grade. He wants her to return tomorrow to get this mass removed and biopsied so we can determine the next steps. Knowing that this surgery comes with a ton of possible complications (her possibly losing function of her back legs, or bowel and bladder incontinence), we are beyond nervous. This dog is one of our children. For those that know, when we went to the animal shelter to look at which dog may be the best fit for us, we had another dog down as our pick (yes I did have a sort of bias against pit bulls based on the bad things you hear about the breed however I never had one before then and did not know how much of an absolute SWEETHEART they are). The shelter called us and thought that we had Ramona down as our pick and wanted to set up a meet and greet which went wonderful from there. That was the best decision we've ever done. I believe that it was fate that brought her to us. Yes, she might get very anxious around dogs and bark at everything that crosses the street in front of HER house however, she gives us so much joy and love that I wish I could just take everything that she is going through and put it onto myself if that means that she's pain-free. This is going to be a lot for us financially and we have already paid down the deposit for her surgery. I know that things will get very tight with our expenses and anything we get from here will go towards covering the remainder of the high-end estimate and any other follow-up care needed.
