My name is Lauryn, and I’m reaching out because I am struggling to find a second job. For the past four months, I’ve been searching for full-time work without success. I currently have a part-time job at a bar, but things have become even more difficult since the owner passed away. Now, everyone is fighting for the few shifts that are left. I was promised a nighttime shift, but it was taken back when another employee decided not to give it up.

I’ve been applying to bars and restaurants all over Brooklyn, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, and Manhattan, giving out over 20 resumes in person just last week. I’ve also been applying for online remote work, but so far, I haven’t heard back from anyone. This is the most trouble I’ve ever had finding a job in my life, and it’s left me feeliing embarrassed, and sad. I’ve had one or two really promising job leads that that did not pan out, as people were trying to help me but they didn’t have all the details and didn’t realize that these places weren’t hiring.

I have asked for help before through this platform, and it’s difficult to do so again, but I’m struggling to make ends meet while I continue my job search.

I’m asking for support to help me cover essential expenses while I continue looking for work. I know that so many people are struggling right now, and it’s hard for me to ask for help.
