How many of us really know or have had our lives personally affected by someone with MS? I do and that is why I am reaching out for your help TODAY! My best friend Jennifer Bowen aka Jennifer Corrao and her husband Jon Bowen are dealing with this disease “head on” and need our help!!
Jon is a strong and proud man. He has served our country in the Air Force and was even injured in the Gulf War. Jon is talented in many ways, but shows the most strength and talent in dealing with MS and the debilitating side effects that have seriously affected Jon's life. Jon went from walking with little assistance to a wheelchair in less than 3 years.
Jennifer did some extensive research and applied for Stem Cell Transplant , which is proven to stop the progression of MS and in many cases, reverse the damage. Many patients have actually entered the treatment centers using a wheelchair and left walking. This is what WE WANT FOR JON AND JENNIFER!! AND I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!!
The cost of the treatment is over $55,000 and INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER ANY OF THE COST. They have been doing what they can on their own, even sold property to raise the money for the treatment and additional costs involved, including being away from home for a month as well as the travel cost, caregiver fees and so on... They have been planning and saving, but the window is a little over 2 months from now and they need our help raising the last $10,000.00!!
I am putting this together for Jennifer and Jon because I know how much this means the both of them, and also to each of us who has had to deal with health issues and surmounting health care costs. I have known Jennifer since she moved here 20 years ago and have seen her step up for myself and so many in this community that I thought I would show her my support when she needed it most.
