Help with Station Mascot Baz's treatment

Hi, I'm Yvonne Marrs and I wrote the book of Mike's exploits at Nast Hyde Halt last year.

Hearing the news that Baz needs important treatment, I asked Mike permission to set up a fundraising page to help pay Baz's vet bill. Having had to pay privately for his urgent bicep operation some years ago, Mike's savings were emptied some months ago once more to save his cat, Lodger's life when she needed emergency vet treatment. I couldn't bear the thought of Mike losing Baz because of a lack of funds!! He is such a kind, generous and lovely man, I wanted to do what I could to help, which isn't much. For years Mike has selflessly helped his local community, and because of this, I assured him that there would be lots of people who would want to help him, hence this request.

Let me tell you a bit about our beloved boy. Baz is an extra special dog. He has been with Mike for the four years of his life. He soon got used to spending lots of time at the old Ghost Station at Nast Hyde Halt, never being a nuisance or chasing the wildlife.

On one nightly walk, he discovered a lady laying in the dark who was exhausted and lost...he wouldn't leave her side...she had special needs. That rescue could have potentially saved the lady's life!

Since taking up the position of Station Mascot, he has helped sell out 500 charity calendars over the last three years which supported Dementia, Men's Cancer and Woman's Cancer. He loves cats!!! Including of course his own feline, Lodger.

Intuitive at home, Baz comforted Mike's dear Mother when his Father passed away. Plus, he knows when not to ask his other human, Mike's wife, for a walk from her when her back issues resurface. Last but not least, he certainly is a comfort to Mike, and an invaluable support as his best friend!
