Help With Smiles Veterinarian Fees
Donation protected
We are asking for any assistance to help our sweet baby Smiles with her immediate medical care costs. Christmas night we took Smiles the the emergency vet because she had a fever off and on since Christmas Eve. She was acting pretty lethargic and not her normal “Smiley” self. Upon arrival and evaluation the veterinarians determined that Smiles red blood cell count is very low and has some type of infection that requires immediate emergency care. They are unable to rule out a tick Bourne or parasite that might be causing this but they said there is no time to wait and need to start antibiotics and steroids immediately and will need to be hospitalized. They said she may also need a blood transfusion. The problem is that the estimated cost just for the first 24 hours is $1,000 to $1,400. We have already spent $500 just to have the preliminary tests and first round of meds done. We are checking her out from the emergency vet and taking her to El Paso Animal Hospital in Derby in hopes that the cost might be a little less. We are asking for any help at all to get her feeling better. She is so special to our family and we would be lost if anything happened to her. If you are able to help in any way we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you and I hope all of you have a blessed holiday season.
