Help with Sheri’s medical expenses
Donation protected

Our mom, Sheri Barrett, has been in the Neuro ICU at Brigham and Women’s Hospital since January, 30th. While her diagnosis remains unclear, her medical team is doing all that they can to get to the bottom of her case and hopefully find a treatment to bring her back to us. Since entering the hospital, she has been through the ringer, needing several life supporting interventions. She was intubated for 18 days before having a tracheotomy placed to help her breath, and continues to make great improvements with her progress toward breathing entirely on her own. The most unknown factor of her condition is what is happening with her brain. MRIs show lesions that they have not yet been able to identify. Some of you may know, our mom has Multiple Sclerosis, though the doctors believe this is entirely unrelated to her MS. At this time, she remains mostly unresponsive when it comes to tracking movements and sounds with her eyes, and experiences limited movement in her arms and legs. Our current goal is to see her graduate from the ICU and move to the general Neuro floor at the Brigham, with the next step likely being a rehab facility. Though there is much unknown about what is happening now and what the future will bring, one thing is for certain: the medical bills are growing every day. Our goal is to help our family pay our Mom’s medical expenses so that we can focus on her recovery and being there to support her. As so many of you know, our Mom is one of a kind and does everything in her power to be there for her family and friends. She is not one to ask for help from others, but we believe if there was ever a time to ask for a helping hand, this is it.
