Help with Shanda’s medical expenses!

We as a family (because dad would’ve never asked for help on his own) decided to reach out to our family and friends and ask for help. 

Today I woke up to a phone call that shocked me to my core. It was my dad calling to inform me that hehad taken my mom to the emergency room at the hospital...

It all started last night, Sunday, January 26th. When my parents were on their way home from my older brother’s(who lives out of town). Mom’s been having a stomach ulcer for years, and she has a flair up about every 6 months or so.... so she told my dad  it was starting to bother her again. When they made it home is when she started vomiting and then dry heaving when there was nothing left. This vomiting is what triggered an aneurysm. And this aneurysm caused a stroke.  So with bleeding in her brain, she’s in ICU in an induced coma.   

She has already had 3 cat scans, an ambulance ride from Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, and is looking at a minimum of a 3 week stay in the hospital. The surgery she needs requires a neurosurgeon. They attempted to do the surgery this evening but when the Dr. checked her out, it turns out her aneurysm is on a main artery in her brain and the surgery cannot be done until the swelling in her brain goes down, this will take 2-3 days. After the surgery she will be in a medically induced coma for 4-5 days.
