Help with set up costs for Third Sector Against Transphobia

Hello everyone. My name is Kevin and I founded Third Sector Against Transphobia (TSAT) in December 2025 following the news about Girlguiding and The Women's Institute, both changing policy to exclude trans+ girls and women, despite having previously held a trans inclusive stance.

TSAT is a diverse and inclusive group of people working and/or volunteering in the UK charity sector who stand in solidarity with our trans and gender-diverse brothers and sisters, and are concerned that anti-trans actors are trying to force charities to change their policies to exclude trans and gender diverse people, by threatening them with litigation.

We recognise that charities operating on single gender causes (like Girlguiding and the Women's Institute) are at particular risk of being targeted with harassment and litigation, and that this is part of a wider and coordinated movement against the rights of minoritised communities, both here in the UK and elsewhere.

We will organise and carry out a range of activities that aim to further our objectives, and a basic website will be an essential tool to help us communicate wth our audiences and promote our campaigning work.

If you work or volunteer in the charity sector, and support our aims, you can join us here: https://lnkd.in/eg_QKu2x

Whilst I founded TSAT, this is not about me, but it might be helpful to know a little more about my story.

I have been an equality campaigner all my adult life. I was unfortunate enough to have been at secondary school under Section28, and this has had a lasting impression on me to this day, in terms of my understanding of fairness and equality.

I started campaigning when I was around 17, campaigning for an equal age of consent for gay men, which is when I attended my frst Pride events, in Newastle and in London.

In recent years I founded and led the Charity So Straight movement, which was the first community of its kind in the UK. A community for LGBTQIA+ professionals working or volunteering in the UK charity sector, speaking about our experience of the sector, and encouraging UK charities to be more equitable spaces for people like us.

I then established Queer Trustees, which is a closed LinkedIn community with over 270 LGBTQIA+ Trustees and aspiring Trustees (there is also a public group for allies). This is another developing community and we will be recruiting for an advisory Board in early 2026.

So, as well as my day job - I'm a fundraiser by profession, now working freelance - I'm heavily invested in campaigning for greater equity for ALL LGBTQIA+ people.

Thank you for considering supporting Third Sector Against Transphobia
