Josie was a 23 year old, Black Trans Woman, a sister, niece, mother, Auntie and more to the local DC Trans community.
On Saturday, March 27th; Josie unexpectedly passed away leaving the local community in shock and heart broken. Josie was supported by and lived at No Justice No Pride Collective housing before moving to her own place last year. Josie was a sweet, loveable young woman who hated arguments but loved it when the community was able to come together.
Josie was known around the Ballroom scene and often participated in the category for realness. Josie was fond for both her chosen and her biological family as well as Loso Gang.
We are working directly with Josie’s Mother, Grandmother and Auntie. Josie’s family has requested that if anyone else wishes to fundraise for Josie’s memorials to please contact Josie’s family first. Please support this fundraiser to support Josie's family with funeral costs and support for a celebration of life.
