Hello, my name is Anthoniette Williams and this fundraising page is dedicated to my daughter, and long time fighter, Scarlett Rose.

Scarlett is 7 years old and when she was born she was diagnosed with a heart disease called dilated cardiomyopathy. This disease causes the chambers of the heart to become enlarged, making it a challenge for the heart to properly pump blood to the rest of the body. Ever since her diagnosis she has been a little warrior fighting her way through countless visits with 6 plus specialists, multiple medications twice daily, bottle/food aversion, severe nausea/throwing up, energy depletion, trouble sleeping and breathing, and more. At 2 ½ years old she had to have G-Tube put in, which she still solely relies on today in order to maintain her weight, which is only 38lbs, because she has never eaten a complete meal and eventually stopped eating anything at all even with therapy. Last November we were informed that her disease progressed quicker than we thought and she had to have PICC Line put in her arm that gives her a 24/7 medication infusion to bridge her heart, which has since been moved twice and is now in her chest, meaning multiple hospital stays. During this time she was evaluated and then placed on the heart transplant list on December 21st 2022, and we are waiting for the day that we get the news that she is going to be getting a new heart.

Suddenly, on February 28th, 2023 I walked into our room where Scarlett laid on the bed and I noticed that she was very disoriented and not acting like herself. I called 911 and they allowed me to take her to the hospital where we stayed for 8-9 days and eventually found out that she suffered from a stroke, which then caused her to have a seizure. She was once again put on a new medication to hopefully help prevent it from happening again.

We had believed that there were going to be drastic changes that occurred closer to the end of the year, but today we learned from one of her many echograms that her heart is even worse than before. Both sides of her heart are very enlarged and beginning to fail to the point that she has to go back into the hospital on August 8th to have her levels rechecked in order to see if she qualifies as a 1A inpatient on the transplant list, meaning priority due to how severe her case is. With this information we know that her, nor I, will be coming back out of the hospital until she receives a new heart. We do not know what the future holds for her or the rest of our family, but I do know that from this point on I will not be able to work, so our financial situation will be very strained. I am not one to ask for help, especially financially, but we were very suddenly put in a bind and I would greatly appreciate anyone’s support. Your support will go towards any necessary gas needed for trips to and from the hospital, rent for our home, bills, food, emergencies, etc. We would greatly appreciate any donations, shares with friends/family, and prayers for our Scarlett Rose and our family.
