Samantha Brickey was born with a kidney defect, resulting in the removal of one of her kidneys at birth. Now at 24, she is experiencing kidney failure. Sam will be starting dialysis within the next month while she awaits a kidney transplant.

This has all been rather sudden, as it began earlier this month with routine blood work showing severely decreased kidney function and resultant kidney failure. Sam was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with stage 5 renal failure, also known as end-stage kidney failure.  Since she will be requiring dialysis and need to make many health visits with her health care providers, Sam will need to be out of work for the time being. As a woman who works two jobs, this has been very difficult for Sam, and will likely become more difficult as medical bills and travel expenses begin to mount.

This fundraiser will go toward these expenses that Sam will incur. Due to the sudden nature of this, there was no time to plan or save ahead, and she has already begun receiving the expensive but necessary medical care required. Any help is greatly appreciated by Sam and her loved ones.
