Help with Sam Lopez's Funeral Expenses

As an icon of the conservation corps movement, few exemplify the dedication, compassion, talent, and humility demonstrated by Sam Lopez.

 

Needing to find a positive direction as a young adult, Sam moved to San Diego and joined the conservation corps. This began a lifelong career of hard work and dedication in helping thousands of young adults at the Urban Corps of San Diego County to find a positive path for themselves.

 

Sam was a favorite of the approximately 16,000 corpsmembers he influenced over his 31 years with the corps, as his strengths and early life’s experiences mirrored those of many of the corpsmembers.

 

For Sam, his corps commitments had always been to care for, lead, encourage, and inspire corpsmembers to work hard and to be a positive role model. His favorite inspirational expression was ‘Si Se Puede’.

 

The community and Sam’s loved ones have lost a giant of a man. Please join us in honoring his memory during this difficult time. The funds would be used for funeral expenses and services to carry on Sam’s legacy and the many lives he has touched. Again, thank you for your support.
