Help With Ruby's Surgeries

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Colleen. Miss Ruby Ann's owner. And we need your help! The vet bills are adding up and I have not been able to catch up. I'm seeking assistance from my loved ones and community. If you know me well, asking for help is not something I would normally do. But, this is for Ruby and she deserves it more than I can express. The more help I can get now, the more I have available for her future vet bills and to make her life at this late stage to be as comfortable and spoiled as possible.

I adopted Ruby from a senior rescue a couple of years ago. She is brave and a bit of a sassy old lady. Since being in my care my life has gone through some major changes. But Ruby has been there for me through it all as only a pet can be. And in that time, Ruby has had to have her second eye removed and most recently, 2 masses removed. We are still awaiting the biopsy results on the mass removals. Fingers crossed! Lots of bloodwork and x-rays to ensure her heart is healthy and she can withstand surgeries, rule out other issues etc. I am NOT asking for help with her food, regular meds, treats, grooming or daily maintenance care. The amount of help I am asking for through your donations is just for the vet visits including her surgeries. It is very true that any amount at all makes a difference. And if all you can do to help is share this, I am truly grateful!

More about Miss Ruby Ann! She is assumed to be about 12-13 years old. She was brought to a shelter in Philly as a stray and was time-stamped due to her medical needs. She needed to have her eye removed along with some other things. She has serious arthritis and is on 2 daily meds to help her be more comfortable. She also has anxiety that has increased since her second eye had to be removed. She likes to be as independent as possible, up until the latest mass removals, she was still navigating the stairs and the rest of the house on her own. She could also navigate the backyard, but we did that together on a long leash. Soon, we will be able to see if she can still maintain that independence once her activity is no longer restricted. She sleeps in her bed in my room because being up on my bed is scary. She is terrified to go to the vet or anywhere she was not familiar with before she went totally blind. She would eat nonstop 24-7 if allowed. She'll politely beg by sitting or laying at my feet. But, she easily accepts if there is nothing for her to get. Her nose is her true guide. She is ready to get up and go when she smells coffee each morning. She knows when fruits or veggies are being chopped that she is allowed to have and she will wander into the kitchen and sniff out my spot. She loves being asked if she was a good girl and she will stomp around wagging her tail as if to say, "of course, now what do I" get?" When she happens to get lost in the house, usually in the kitchen, she will whimper to let me know she needs some help. She is housetrained and will wake me up if she needs to go out during the night. She is smart and kind. She gets along with other dogs that visit and with all humans that cross her path. She is gentle and sweet and deserves the best.

Ruby is my soul dog. I saw her on the rescue page and just knew she belonged in my home with me. I believe we have been together in other lifetimes. I want to make the remaining time she has the best it can be. Can you help?
