Our beautiful girl Roxy sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning in the care of the amazing veterinary staff at UCD Veterinary Hospital who did all they possibly could to save her.
Roxy became extremely unwell over the weekend and required emergency surgery to remove a suspected ball that had got stuck in her stomach and created a blockage, subsequently leading to part of her intestines dying due to the lack of oxygen. The surgery required to remove part of the intestine and then attach it to healthy intestine was extremely complex and required great time and skill from the Veterinary team. It also came with great risk. Unfortunately Roxy did not recover well and within a few hours stopped breathing but was able to be resuscitated. A short while later her condition continued to deteriorate and she passed away peacefully. We as a family went in to see her together and said our goodbyes to her.
We have no insurance for Roxy and the costs of her emergency treatment and specialised care after surgery came to be very costly and we are asking for family and friends or anybody who can to donate as little as they are able to to help as an act of kindness.
Thank you from Amy, Marco, Tiago and Ruby.
