Help with Rocco’s medical bills

Friends, I have been off of Facebook for some time due to personal issues. I am back on now, with a heavy heart, as I break down and ask for help. Rocco, my youngest, and the light of my heart, has been diagnosed with a childhood form of epilepsy. So far, he has been responding really well to his medication and we are focusing on living a heathly lifestyle and eating right. So what happened? A couple of weeks ago, he had a really long seizure that is called “status epilepticus”. This is a prolonged seizure that usually won’t stop without medical intervention. He had never had a seizure, so this was the scariest night of my life. After drugs didn’t stop it, Rocco was put into a medically induced coma, intubated (breathing tube down his throat) and flown by medevac helicopter to All Children’s hospital. He remamined in the PICU for two days and was diagnosed.

The good news: he’s doing ok
The bad news: I’m drowning in debt because of it

We are covered by insurance, but the deductible is $5,000. The helicopter ride was $44,000 and it is not totally covered by insurance. Lab fees, ER Dr fees, ambulance fees, medicine, follow up dr visits, etc.

If you are able to, please help. Besides donations, I am also begging for prayers and good vibes into the universe for my little man. It has been a hard road so far and sending love into the universe for him will help. Also, epilepsy can be caused by poor nutrition. Since he was a baby, Roc has been a picky eater and really only eats meat. I beg you, give your kids a balanced diet and vitamins daily so you don’t have to go through this.
