These are some photos from the day we got our bestest boy Remy James to where he is at right now. This sweet kindhearted boy is our family and best friend. Remy is an amazing dog who truly knows how to put a smile on anyone face that he meets. My Wife and I are both currently serving in the military at Ft Bragg, N.C. We have two beautiful daughters who are only 6 & 7 and this was there first dog that they got to pick out. He is only 2 years old!
On the 6th of February Remy was attacked by two large stray dogs on. I was away for training and my wife charge the stray dogs to get them to stop attacking him. She rushed him to an Animal Urgent Care near our home where he had to go into emergency life saving surgery. Although he was badly bruised he did not have internal damage. However after he was released and his condition began to deteriorate and by Thursday February 11th and he was rushed back to emergency. He had a fever and was still retaining a lot of fluid. On Friday the 12th had to rush him from NC State Veterinary Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. Once at NC State they found that Remy had extensive muscle and tissue damage. He has had multiple surgeries already and he has to have another one to remove additional muscle and tissue. They are also talking about possible amputation of the leg. If they do that his stay will be extended for care of the wound possible additional surgery and rehab. The vet bills are more than we thought so we are asking for any help u can give.
Update: There was too much damage and they did have to remove Remy's right hind leg. So he is going to require about 2 weeks of Rehab. Unfortunately, with two daughters, being in the military and just PCSing to N.C from Texas we don't have a lot of money left. If you could find it in your hearts to please help us save our family dog my family would be forever grateful. Thank you for reading this and Sharing Remy's Story!
