Help with recovery from surgery and chemo
Donation protected
Hi everyone, on 1/25/2023 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I started feeling sick over the summer. I saw several doctors, but nothing was found in any of labs or diagnostic tests. On 1/22/2023 I was rushed to the ER at Cedars-Sinai medical center in excruciating pain. This is when the 10cm grapefruit sized tumor was discovered. I underwent abdominal surgery to have the tumor removed and it was discovered in the biopsy that the tumor was cancerous. I had other organs removed at the same time. The tissue was tested and thankfully there was no spreading. Unfortunately upon removal of the tumor, it burst inside me and to help reduce possible spreading and since the cells were marked as aggressive, I will be starting chemotherapy this Friday. It is officially 4 weeks after the surgery I am still recovering from. Which that recovery alone is 6-8 weeks. I will be healing from surgery, beginning chemo and healing all of it at the same time. To say I am not scared and emotional would be a lie. As you all know I am faith filled and still feeling all of the emotions as this process continues.
In the past, asking for help has not been my strong suit. Here I am and the universe is asking me again to allow community to help me. For my family and friends that have been supporting me, thank you and I love you. To all those who will support me along this healing journey, thank you and I love you. I appreciate your support in all the ways, including financially. I appreciate all the prayers, the love, and care. Thank you for reading this.
