In October, I was involved in a car accident that left me with long-term injuries to my brain and ribs. Having Ehlers-Danlos complicates things by making me more susceptible to serious injury and prolonged recovery with incidents like this. Since the accident, I have been doing my best to mend while waiting for a personal injury settlement. Unfortunately, my medical debt and everyday bills have continued to pile up, and I find myself in an emergency financial situation I never expected. As a single income earner caring for my disabled partner, these challenges have made daily life even more difficult. My injuries have made it hard to manage basic care and keep up with the demands of our household.
When it rains, it pours. Recently, my father has also entered into hospice care, and driving the 60 mile distance to visit and help care for him has also drained me financially (due to the rise in gas prices and associated wear and tear expenses on my car.) I tried, initially, to donate plasma to make up the difference, but had to eventually be deferred for four months due to a required medical procedure. That was much-needed income I no longer have access to.
I am asking for help so I can afford food, medical expenses, pay essential bills, and stay on top of my mortgage payments while I wait for my settlement to clear. Any support would bring much-needed relief and stability to our family during this tumultuous time. Your kind donations would help us keep a roof over our heads and meet our basic needs as I focus on healing, supporting my partner, and being there for my father.
I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer. Your generosity means so much to us, and your support brings hope and comfort when we need it most. Thank you for considering a contribution and for being part of our journey as we navigate such trying circumstances.
