For those who have known me, my health has been steadily declining over the past few years. I spent years trying to figure out what was wrong, and now I know it was my heart primarily. Amongst my health issues, this was the most serious. I underwent a cardiac catheterization, had a heart pump inserted, and was transferred to a specialty hospital. I was sent into an emergency double bypass surgery due to a 70% and a 90% blockage.
Now, as I prepare to go home, I am facing new challenges. There is a wound care service that is not covered by my insurance, but is necessary due to my diabetes. I also need a bed downstairs because I am not permitted to go upstairs for a while, and the couch is not an option. I am now two days post-op and am slowly regaining strength, already able to walk a bit each day.
I would appreciate any help the community would like to offer and will be happy to pay it forward with my new lease on life.
