Help with Ray's Funeral Costs and Support for his Family

My name is Michelle, and I’m writing this on behalf of my daughter, Jolan, who is going through a heartbreaking loss.

On June 15th, she lost her partner, Raymond Pruden-Collins, very suddenly and unexpectedly. Ray wasn’t just her boyfriend—he was her soulmate. The two of them shared a love that was deep, rare, and so real. He truly saw her for who she was, and they brought out the best in each other.

Ray was a kind, genuine, and loving young man. Despite the pain he had experienced in his life, he managed to keep his heart open. He was hilarious, thoughtful, and incredibly loyal. He was also a talented tattoo artist and guitar player. Family meant everything to him.

Just after his passing, his mom shared with us that Ray had been planning to propose to Jolan on July 1st. He had been planning it since New Year’s. The grief of losing him is overwhelming for all of us—but especially for her.

Ray and Jolan lived together and shared all their bills—rent, groceries, pet food, and more. Jolan is on a fixed income and simply cannot cover everything on her own. Ray’s mother has also had to take time off work to cope with this unimaginable loss and help with arrangements. We’re now facing the costs of arranging his funeral, and while we may receive some assistance from the ministry, we still need help to give Ray the goodbye he deserves.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Funeral expenses for Ray

• Rent and living costs Jolan is now facing alone

• Support for Ray’s mom while she is off work

• Pet supplies and basic needs in the coming weeks

Jolan is also doing something special to honor him—she plans to finish any tattoos that Ray started on others but never had the chance to complete. It’s one small way to keep a piece of his art and his spirit alive.
