Pete is my 4-year-old male domestic shorthair cat, and he’s been part of our family since he was a tiny kitten. He’s grown up alongside my two kids and has brought so much joy and comfort to our home. Just last week, I noticed Pete was urinating blood, which was terrifying for all of us. I took him to the vet right away, where he had X-rays and a urinalysis. The vet diagnosed him with a urinary tract infection and gave him a shot of antibiotics, hoping it would clear things up.

Unfortunately, Pete’s symptoms haven’t improved. He’s still urinating blood and now has trouble urinating at all. The vet believes he may have a blockage, which is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition for cats. To treat this, Pete needs to be hospitalized, have a catheter placed for several days, and undergo more X-rays and examinations. The cost of this emergency procedure is far more than I can afford right now. UPDATE. We tried to intervene with medicine before doing surgery and he did ok for a few weeks while on the medicine to relax his urethra. Now he is experiencing pain and growling and discomfort. Looks like we are going to need to go back to the vet again. We really can’t afford all of these visits but love our Pete dearly and need any help we can get for him.

We love Pete dearly and can’t imagine our family without him. I’m reaching out to the community, hoping for your support to help cover Pete’s emergency vet bill. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and help keep Pete healthy and with our family. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
