Help with Peter's Memorial & Jamie's Next Chapter

Dearest Friends and Family,

As you know, our sweet dad passed away Tuesday, May 16th after a long journey of fighting cancer. He had come home Monday, May 15th after deciding to stop chemo. We were told he'd have a few weeks, but were surprised to find he left early for Home the next morning. He left quietly, peacefully, no fuss - which was just like him. We got to say our I love you's the night before, grandkids included; we ate dinner, laughed, cried and the house almost felt like a typical family night. Almost.

Many of you have asked when services will be and, as a family, we have decided we would like to come home to Chicago to have a remembrance of our dad. It is the place he raised his family, the place he made his most meaningful friendships and the home of his beloved Chicago Bears :) We are hoping to raise funds to be able to travel out and cater Portillos at Grace Pointe for a Bears themed in memoriam. We think he'd get a kick out of that!

In addition, our dear mom has been left with a lot to deal with financially. There are expenses she has already inherited and we expect many medical expenses to start rolling in. We do not know what that grand total will be, but we are sure it will be grand. This goal will cover both the memorial service and currently known expenses, though she will likely need to exceed the goal once all is known.

We know our mom and dad have touched so many lives and if all those lives gave a little, maybe we could set her up for a new life that she has less to worry about.
