Hello everyone, this is mom. First and foremost, thank you for the outpouring of love and support you've given our family. Paulo (aka Bear) is my eldest boy, the second out of nine siblings. This week, Paulo, was diagnosed with Pineoblastomas, a Grade 4 CNS tumor that has metastasized intracranially. His treatment plan includes high-dose chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Next week, he will undergo a lumbar tap and surgery to have a port inserted for chemotherapy.

The goal is to start chemotherapy on July 22nd and continue daily for 6 weeks. Both treatments will take place at The California Proton Center and Rady's Children's Hospital in San Diego. Due to the intensity of the chemotherapy, it is recommended that Paulo and I stay in San Diego for the entire 6-week period.

While there is a possibility of financial assistance from the oncology department for hotel expenses, it is not guaranteed. We were also told there is about a 3 week waitlist for the Ronald Mcdonald house. Therefore, we need to prepare for commuting expenses, hotel stays, as well as any unforeseen expenses during this time. This is where your support is immensely appreciated.
