Help with Patty's Recovery Journey

Donation protected
On February 20th 2023, Patty had what is called a Hemorrhagic brain bleed in the left hemisphere of her brain. Basically, this is a very serious stroke. She was found on the floor unresponsive in her Florida home and rushed to the nearby hospital. She was then transported to a hospital almost two hours away that specializes in Neuro care. She was intubated and admitted to the Neuro ICU unit in Florida. Patty has remained unconscious with a few very brief states of response. Her team of doctors have prepared us for a long road to recovery. A full recovery cannot be guaranteed. We are focusing on the here and now- and we know that with God all things are possible.

Patty has always been a very independent and active person who has cared for everyone her whole life. Being the eldest sister of five siblings, even from a very young age, Patty has been a caregiver in every shape and form. She is always helping and taking care of everything and everyone. She has taken care of her ex-husband when he had his leg accident. She cared for her mother 15 years all the way up until the end when she lived with her and took care of her daily for years. Just when she finally gets to do something for herself, by moving to Florida, and being able to travel and see the country by travel trailer.

To give Patty the best possible chance of a full recovery, her family (son, daughter, sisters) are taking turns flying in and staying by her side to make sure she is getting the best possible care. She will need months of rehabilitation and hard work. She will not be able to work during this time, nor can they predict how long her recovery will take. At some point in her recovery, we will transport her closer to her home in Illinois for additional rehab. Your donation would help cover her extensive medical expenses and loss of wages. It would assist her children in their travel back and forth to Florida, help them reside close to the hospital, and assure her the support and strength she needs.

Now it's our turn to take care of her.So many of her friends, family and co-workers have asked how they can help or what they can do. The only thing we can think of that would help is prayer and to help ensure she is covered financially.

Thank you in advance for your continued support for Patty Hollingsworth.

** Patty has many friends and family that are requesting updates on her. The sisters have created a way to share that through CaringBridge. We will also post basic updates on Facebook as well.

If you would like to send her cards of encouragement you can send them to Patty Hollingworth 880 Fenwick Loop The Villages mFl. 32163
