Hi,

My name is Robyn Farwell. I am a friend of Shellie Cockman who I am starting this fund raiser for.

For those that don’t know Shellie’s story, she originally had bariatric surgery back in 2021. Unfortunately, she developed a leak 48hrs post op which led to sepsis, several abscesses, JP drains, DVT blood clot, collapsed lung, plural effusions..just to name a few. She ended up in ICU on life support and required a 6 week hospital stay. Ever since then, she has faced numerous hospitalizations and surgeries. Her most recent one in December, she had complications yet again having to be airlifted from a local ER back to her surgeon due to severe blood loss from a hemorrhage. She ended up in the ER last on March 24th and has been in the hospital ever since. They have discovered she has a condition with her liver and no surgeon in NC is capable/willing to do the surgery she needs due to her frail health and anatomy. She is being referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. We are praying a surgeon there will take her case and finally give her the help she needs. She has been so sick for so long, they also discovered her body has become malnourished. She received a PICC line to receive TPN nutrition to hopefully get her body strong enough to continue to fight and make it through surgery with no complications. This has all come unexpectedly, leaving them to plan to have to pay for flights, lodging, food, etc. on top of 3 years of unexpected medical bills. Shellie has been out of work quite a bit with all of this, sometimes weeks/months at a time and as you all know, life/bills don’t stop just because you’re sick. This has left her husband, Tyler being the only one working. They are a family of 6, with 4 beautiful children. They have had so many people reach out wanting to help, and this would be the best way possible. If you are able please donate to help cover medical expenses. Any amount helps!
