Hello Everyone, I am looking for help with My partial Mastectomy and Tumor removal. Since finding out I had tumors in April of 2021 I have been on a physical and mental roller coaster. Especially after loosing my mom to Breast Cancer in September 2020.

The Tumors I have are hormonal, so any changes I have now or in the future caused by hormones will causes them to grow. Please read my story.

April 2021- I went in for a Mammogram and ultra sound. The results were not something I ever Expected or ever hoped to hear. I have 2 tumors. 1 tumor in each breast that were the size of pearls. A little to small for biopsies. So the plan was to wait 6 months and go in for new scans.

October 2021- 6 months have passed and I am getting new scans and they discover new findings. Both of the tumors have doubled in size and now I have clusters of cysts and scatters cysts. Around 15 to 20 cysts in my right breast. And 5 or more in my Left. The radiologist decided it’s time for a MRI for more details.

She also suggested that they force me through menopause 12 years earlier then the average age. But we will decide after the MRI

November 2021- I received the MRI and the report indicated the smaller tumor is solid the larger tumor has some fluid. Most of the cysts are solid but 2 of the clusters of cysts also contain fluid. They are a little concerned and we (my primary, radiologist and myself) decide it’s time for a mastectomy to keep me safe and healthy and they refer me to a surgeon.

January 2022- I meet with my surgeon and we go over 2 surgical options. A partial and a full mastectomy. With The partial I will be out of work for 6-8 weeks they will be able to remove the tumors and as many cysts as they can and do reconstruction surgery. They will send the tumors and concerning cysts in for biopsies as well as the surrounding tissue they remove for graphing. If anything comes back abnormal I will go through chemo and radiation and end up doing a full Mastectomy after treatment. The full will put me out of work for 4-6 months and is a 2 part surgery. Seeing as financially that won’t be possible we have chooses the partial and wait to see what the results of the biopsies are. We submitted everything to insurance and I got a call today 3-1-22 that insurance has denied my claim because of the hospital they will be doing the surgery at is out of my network however, they did approve the surgery portion of it but we are still required to pay a large amount out of pocket. We are resubmitting the surgery for a different hospital in my network but if it is denied again we will have to pay even more out of pocket.

My mental health is not ok! Every time I make a new doc appointment or an appointment for new scans I am marking on my the calendar for news that I was to late and it has turned into cancer. No once should have to Live on fear or worry about weather or not they have cancer. So we are left with no choice but to ask for help.
