Help Needed with our Lila’s Eye Surgery

Hi, my name is Mary. My husband and I are dog lovers, and have been rescuing dogs for 13 years. Lila was our very first rescue 13 years ago and is the love of our lives. Over the years we’ve been hit with some pretty big vet bills for all of our rescues, whether it be for special meds or surgeries to help them feel better. We’ve done our best to always pay out of pocket, but at times it has been difficult. Just recently our Lila was diagnosed with glaucoma as well as a cancerous mass growing in between her iris and cornea, causing pressure and pain. Right now she is on meds to reduce the pressure somewhat and relieve some pain. However, surgery to remove her eye (which is blind already) is a must since the mass will only keep growing. The only other option is to put her down, which we won’t even think about since she’s healthy otherwise. My husband and I have already spent over $1600 for a special animal opthamologist visit as well as bloodwork and a chest X-ray to ensure she is a candidate for surgery. The cost of the actual surgery will be roughly $3000…this is why I’m asking for any help you can possibly give us. Please pray for our Lila, too…we love her so much.
