My child has been in the hospital since Wednesday, and our family is facing a very difficult time. They were born with a congenital heart defect called Tretrology of Faillot, and have already endured two open heart surgeries and two other surgeries throughout their life. Yesterday, we received the devastating news that an infection has damaged their replacement valve. Once the infection is cleared, they will need to undergo another open heart surgery.
They are facing all of this without insurance. Their monthly premium last year was affordable, but this year it has become so expensive that they had to opt out. On top of that, their part-time job has cut their hours to just two days a week, making it even harder to keep up with everyday expenses. We are now looking at a tremendous amount of hospital bills, as well as the ongoing cost of living.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Any support you can offer will make a difference as they face this next surgery and the challenges ahead. Please do what you can to help. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
