On a recent day at the beach, our sweet dog Olive was suddenly and violently attacked by another dog. We rushed her to our local vet, where we received devastating news: Olive had sustained a sucking chest wound, a life-threatening injury requiring immediate and specialized care. She was quickly transferred to an emergency veterinary hospital in Santa Cruz, where she was under 24-hour watch and receiving the critical treatment she needed to survive and heal. Her care included intensive monitoring, and round-the-clock support from a skilled medical team. The emotional toll of this traumatic event has been immense — and so has the financial burden. We’re asking for help with Olive’s emergency care that she received which gave her the best chance of recovery.
