Help with Nixon’s Veterinary Costs
Donation protected
My name is Taylor and I am fundraising to help cover veterinary medical expenses for my dog, Nixon. He is a 14 year old Pomeranian who I have had since he was 9 weeks old.
On Dec 23rd I had to bring Nixon to Waves Pet Hospital in Langford where they had to perform what they considered life saving measures. He was in severe distress and having difficulty breathing and was given oxygen amongst a few other medications to try and stabilize him. After an X-ray was performed it was determined he has a collapsed trachea. It is very common in small breed dogs, and is something that can unfortunately happen at any time throughout their life with nothing you can actively do to prevent it.
Nixon is responding very well to his medications (a bronchodilator, hydrocodone syrup & sedative) and as of right now, his Vet has determined he can still live his life comfortably and relatively normally for as long as he is responding well. But he will need these medications now for the rest of his life. Other than the collapsed trachea Nixon has been in great health his entire life.
As many people are these days, I am in currently in a tight financial position and covering these initial veterinary costs on top of the now ongoing monthly costs for medications is very difficult. I am hoping to fundraise to help me with his hospital bill.
If you know me, you know Nixon is very special to me and has been my little best friend since day 1. I love him so much and he is so important to our family. He is a tough (& stubborn) little guy who I know has many years left with us.
I find it very difficult to ask for help especially in todays world, but Nixon is worth it. Absolutely anything and everything helps.
