Help With New Dance Studio Premises

Basingstoke Academy of Dancing (B.A.D.) has been one of the premier dance schools in Basingstoke since the early seventies. Starting off teaching only Ballet to children, we now teach a wide variety of dance genres to all age groups, from Toddlers to Pensioners.
Unfortunately, the premises we have been in since 2006, are being redeveloped by our leaseholders, meaning we must find a new home. This will require considerable investment to replace our dance facilities.
Originally run as a sole trader, now a partnership, we have little or no access to grants and funding. With fit-out costs looking to be more than £150k, we are hoping for some help! We need new sprung floors, mirrors, and barres (we cannot repurpose our current ones sadly). There will also be building conversion works and regulatory set up to comply with building regulations. We have some savings, but everything costs so much more than it did in 2006. We are in negotiations on lease terms for new premises and will announce the new exciting location as soon as we can.

Our community extends to 400+ Toddlers, Pre Schoolers, School Children, College Students, Pre -Vocational Students, Professional Dancers, Adults and Pensioners and their families - this as a big community to cater for. Our Dance Education at BAD covers not just fun and fitness but accredited exams, performance opportunities, competitions and charity work locally, nationally and globally. We also have many students that have gone on to vocational colleges and performance and teaching careers.
Our opportunities are very inclusive taking on board many children, some with SEN statements and learning difficulties and we strive to provide the same opportunities for all.
