Nestor was Dave’s beloved companion since she was just 9 months old. She was more than a pet. She was his best friend, a sweet girl who brought joy to everyone she met. Her presence filled the home with joy and she was cherished by friends, family, and anybody who met her. This was all very sudden. She was only 5 and was a very happy and healthy dog. Losing her has felt unreal.
Recently, Nestor became very ill. She stopped eating, became lethargic, and her eyes were yellow. After taking her to the vet, we learned her pancreas was swollen and pressing against her liver bile duct. Further tests revealed she had been living with lymphoma for quite some time. Chemotherapy would have given her maybe a few more months, but we didn’t want her to suffer. Making the decision to let her go was incredibly hard, but it was the kindest choice for her.
The costs of her care added up quickly. Between emergency room stays, tests, and treatments, the bills became overwhelming. This financial burden has been a heavy weight on top of the grief of losing Nestor. Nestor was so loved and is dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Anything at all helps during this difficult time, and your kindness means more than words can say.
