Help Neil's Esophageal Cancer Journey

Life as you know it can change in an instant and that’s what recently happened to Neil Wood, husband to Erica and father to Kaeden and Kieragan, when he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. No one ever expects to hear “you’ve got cancer” especially when you’ve led a very healthy/active lifestyle where your only daily regiment was taking a multi-vitamin…but he heard those words. It has altered their life and thrusted them down an agonizing path of the unknown where faith, hope and support from family and friends has become their refuge.

 

Neil received his first round of chemo/immunotherapy on November 3, 2021. He will endure 7 to 9 months of aggressive treatment followed by (potential) surgery. Neil will undergo his initial treatment in Utica followed by a lengthy stay in Boston.

 

On behalf of the Wood family, we kindly and humbly ask for your help – those that know him or of him…those whose child he coached in t-ball, little league, travel ball, pop warner and hockey…those who played alongside him on the ice...those teams he organized and oversaw as the men’s hockey league president…those who worked with him at Pepsi, Coca-Cola, GlaxoSmithKline and (currently) AstraZeneca – as Neil has a long and difficult road ahead of him.

 

Neil has always wanted the best for his wife and children. He is a hard worker and excellent provider for his family. With the emotional stress and pain that this disease will bring, we seek your assistance with lightening their financial burden. Neil has been a pillar of strength and support to so many so let us, as a community, come together to help him and his family by showing love, support and compassion.
