On Tuesday, September 23, we lost Nathan, the best cat ever, our little mountain lion.

I'm absolutely heartbroken and feel so empty.

Nathan was not an ordinary cat. He was so powerful, confident, energetic, and very independent.

He's been through a lot; we almost lost him in 2016 due to diabetic ketoacidosis. He was on the edge twice, but every time he fought for life violently, and after radiation therapy done at UC Davis, his diabetes became easily manageable.

Now, 9 years later, he tried to fight again but at 17 years 2 months old, he's lost this battle. It all happened so rapidly and all of a sudden. We noticed that something was not right on Friday night. On Saturday morning, he was hospitalized at Adobe Animal Hospital. On Sunday, he was transferred to more advanced Sage, and on Tuesday, it was obvious that he was not going to make it despite all the efforts.

I'm truly embarrassed. But this is the moment when I'd be grateful if you could help me even a little. It won't bring Nathan back but it would ease the burden of the enormous vet bill of $20,561 we incurred while trying to save him. If you are in a position to help, even a small contribution would be an incredible blessing. We have no regrets about fighting for him until the very end, but the cost is substantial, especially since I'm currently without work.
