Help with my new life as a amputee.

Hi! My name is Travis Loteck, I have blood clots since I was 22, they have no clue why. I`ve spent thousands of dollars running test and trying to figure out why I have them. I have chronic DVT`s in my left leg, my right leg, and my stomach. I have had two bypasses done on the right leg to save it. After many different doctor’s appointments, treatments, and excruciating pain, the ultimate treatment was amputation. In October of 2020, I had to have below the knee amputation because of the clots. My leg didn't heal right and in June of 2021 I had to have another 1 1/2 inches cut off. My left leg is getting to the point I'm going to have to have a bypass done on that leg also.

 

 

Before June I had really good insurance from my old job. I couldn't afford my old insurance anymore, So I got insurance I could afford though the marketplace. Which is probably the worse insurance I could have but its what I can afford. That being said, Unfortunately, the cost of the medical bills and prostheses are shocking. I will have to undergo many different types of prostheses before I can find the right fit. Some protheses can even cost upwards of $50,000 and my health insurance will not cover all it! I've applied for disability, which I'm still waiting to hear there response. On January 1st my deductible of 4000 kicks in, that being said I will not be able to afford my Blood Thinners which are 500 a month even with Good RX.

 

I need help paying for my medical bills, prosthetic, rent, and other household bills. I do meal prep for some clients when they are in town. With out my prosthetic it makes things really hard. I know once I have my prosthetic that will let me live a better and more fulfilled life down the road. Any help to make this transition into my NEW life and get back to work, walking and riding my bike again would be so greatly appreciated.
