Many of you may already know, I became very sick and unable to work in 2014.  Last year I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.  Basically I was bit by a tick and it created an autoimmune condition in my body which behaves similar to Lupus, but a little more complex.  I found a doctor and began treatment last year.  Unfortunately my insurance does not cover much of my medical expenses.  I did 5 garage sales last year and sold as much of my belongings as I could to pay for my medical treatments, but that money has run out and now I need to see a specialist in Washington DC on top of my current treatment plan.  I have had improvements with my treatments, but I’m still not able to return to work.  I am in the process of trying to get assistance from Social Security Disability, but they have denied me twice and I now must wait almost two years before they give me a court date.  For almost 3.5 years I was living with whoever could take me in.  I now have a semi-stable place to live and receive some food assistance from the state, but I do not have an income to cover other costs of living or the $1800 in medical expenses I’ve been paying.  In addition, the cost to see the specialist in DC will be between $2000-$3000.  I am creating a GoFundMe campaign to try and raise funds to get me the money for DC and anything additional which can help me until I go to court with Social Security.  Ultimately the goal is to get better and go back to work, but my treatment plan is expected to last 5 years and there is no guarantee it will make me well enough to return to work.  Wish me luck and please share my campaign with as many others as you can.  It always helps, when sharing, to add a personal note to help your friends know why you want to help or how you know me.  Thank you for all your support and love!
