Hello, my name is Trish. My friend Bea recently fell at home; she had osteoporosis and her leg fractured.

She was admitted to hospital and died of complications following the fall. A post mortem was ordered and the funeral is anticipated to be in 4 weeks time due to delays, I cannot give an exact date but an estimate.

Bea was a quiet lady, full of compassion for others, she worked in a charity shop in her later years.

She was married to Lenny for 60 years, they cared for their disabled daughter all of her life.

Lenny is 93, a proud man he always worked but in low paid jobs, enough to care for his family but nothing left for savings, he has never claimed benefits. He does have an insurance policy for Bea, sadly when we looked it was for £250, not enough for a funeral and no one to help. I have known this devoted family for 10 years since moving house.

So, here I am asking for donations to fund Bea's cremation. Lenny would like a "proper send off".

We have looked at a few funeral directors’ fees - on average costs are £2,325 these make up the biggest cost of a funeral and includes the coffin, a hearse, collection and care of the deceased, plus professional

services.
