Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my dad's story...

In January of this year, my father,

Dennis Ramey was in Puerto Vallarta for vacation with family and friends.

On his last day there, after a day of fishing, he spent the evening at dinner and then returned to the house they had rented to rest before their flight the following day.

Sometime during the night, he woke up experiencing night terrors, causing him to fall through a glass partition from the second-floor bedroom.

The fall caused severe internal damage resulting in broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a spinal cord injury which led to paraplegia.

Before the accident, my dad was an avid fisherman, hunter, and former hockey player. He was always exploring and going on adventures to find arrowheads and truly loved the outdoors.

He is also a local business owner in Rockport of A to Z Fence.

The severity of his injuries has left him with astronomical hospital bills, the inability to meet with clients and visit job sites, and multiple hospital admissions since he was first released.

My dad is now faced with the challenging reality of re-learning life from the confines of a wheelchair.

We are working toward building his health which requires physical rehabilitation and a home health nurse.

His wife, Maria, currently works multiple jobs to maintain their bills and home.

My dad has always been a strong person and there for my siblings and me, no matter the circumstances.

With the long journey ahead of him, I want to share his situation in hopes that the community he is such a large part of can share his story and offer support when he needs it the most.

Our goal is to encourage him to get back to doing what he loves the most.
