Help with moving expenses from eviction
Donation protected
Hi everyone. Let me tell you a little about our situation. I’ll start at the beginning. My dad, a USAF retired TSGT, passed away unexpectedly on 12 February 2018. While he did have a life insurance policy it wasn’t enough to pay off my parents house. My 80 year old mom has been strictly bedridden for the past 10 years and is starting hospice care. She can’t even move herself to roll over or sit up, we have to move her. My sister is fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (she is the primary caregiver for our mom with me helping out as much as needed), and my brother is trying to get disability for health reasons- if you’ve ever had to do this you know it’s a long and arduous process.
They all live together, nextdoor to my husband and I and our family. If that sounds like a lot to be dealing with, it is! My parents house was foreclosed on right after Christmas and now my mom, sister, brother and my oldest son are facing eviction. We live in a small 3 bedroom townhouse which doesn’t have enough room for us to combine households at least not comfortably long term anyway. We are looking to break our lease and find a home big enough for us to all live together under one roof.
My mom does get social security and a pension from the Air Force but they aren’t enough to really live off of. I’m trying to raise funds to help with our moving expenses including security deposit, setting up and settling utilities, moving trucks and packing supplies, etc. for both households.
My husband and I have been trying to carry their household as well as our own since my dad passed. It has pretty much bankrupted us trying to maintain two households expenses for so long- but hey that’s what you do for family right? I take everyone to their dr appointments including chemo for my sister once a week. Plus my kids appointments too. I recently started door dashing and instacart to help bring in more money but it’s still not enough. I have Fibromyalgia so I am limited to what I can do physically; so that and all the appointments makes it hard for me to have a traditional job. That being said I do push myself to make sure our households function day to day.
We desperately need your help. If you can spare even $5 every little bit will help. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing with your friends who may also share and donate if they can. My mother worked her whole life serving people. She was an RN and when she could no longer work she served the needy and the sick in our community where ever. So I’m trying to give back to her what she has given so many. Thank you so much for reading our story, for your donation if you’re able, and for sharing our fundraiser. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate it!
