Help with monthly expenses while Logan recovers

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, Logan sustained severe injuries when working on top of a roof while on the job as a home inspector. He was transitioning to another area of the roof when his ladder suddenly became unsteady and slid out from under him, resulting in a 15-foot fall directly onto the concrete driveway. A neighbor heard him screaming and called 911. Once stabilized, Logan was brought to the hospital by ambulance. He was in immense pain even with several heavy IV painkillers, and all we knew was that he had a broken arm and broken leg due to the amount of blood pooling around his ankle when a bone in his ankle exited his skin. This did and still does put him at a very high risk of infection. After seeing several different faces, having scans and x-rays to rule out a head injury, and a whole lot of waiting, Logan was found to have an open tibia-fibula pilon fracture, a completely shattered radial head in his left elbow, and several very nasty scrapes and scratches. Thankfully, he was able to avoid a head injury solely due to his right leg and left arm breaking his fall. A few hours later, he was brought to surgery to piece his fibula back together, stabilize it with some metal, and place an external fixator to hold the remaining bones in place while they waited for the swelling to go down so they could perform another surgery. The external fixator included a bar that went straight through his ankle and several pins sticking out through his skin, covered by gauze and a wrap. They also worked on his arm during this first surgery and replaced the radial head in his elbow with a titanium prosthetic, as it was far too shattered to piece back together. Logan spent several more days waiting in the hospital to have his next procedure to repair the rest of his leg. On day 6, he was able to have his second procedure. The surgeon placed an approximately 8-inch metal plate in his leg as well as more than 10 screws to hold his tibia together. He was in excruciating pain the entire time he was in the hospital. He was allowed to go home that Tuesday, August 1st, and Sarah and Logan celebrated their 9-year wedding anniversary the next day on Wednesday, August 2nd.

Logan was the main breadwinner for his family and is now unable to work in either of his fields of work (HVAC, home inspection) for at least 4-6 months. His wife, Sarah, works full-time and their family of four is now living on one much smaller income for the foreseeable future. They have already received very, very appreciated help from so many friends and family, but are now facing the very real possibility of falling very behind very quickly. Unfortunately, his employer has not made the process of receiving work compensation easy for him, and they will be receiving little to nothing in lost wages during the time Logan is unable to work.

Logan is an incredibly hard-working guy, cares deeply for his family, and will do just about anything for anyone. He and his family are under a profound amount of stress and the financial strain resulting from this accident is a substantial part of that. Please consider donating to help this family make it through this difficult time.
