Help with Montana's Medical Expenses

Montana Haney is a vibrant 12 year old girl from Bridge Creek, Oklahoma.  She loves all of the things and doing all the things that girls her age do.  She loves hanging out with her friends, playing sports, cooking, baking, taking care of her cat and dog, and most of all spending time with her family.

Montana's life took a dramatic turn on November 17, 2019 when she went to the Dr. with a high fever that would not go down and a headache.  She then started having problems keeping anything down and within 24 hours was in the hospital getting her first blood transfusion.  She was then referred to a Hematologist when she was discharged because the Dr.s thought that she had an iron deficiency.   She had to also have her blood drawn every 3 days to see where her numbers were at because her hemoglobin kept dropping.   While the local Dr keeping an eye on her and drawing her blood every 3 days, and getting specialist's approved and tests scheduled, Montana's levels kept going down, and down.  She was finally approved and scheduled with a Dr at the Jimmy Everett Center who did a few tests and finally came to the conclusion that for some reason her red blood cells were dying before they could do the job they are supposed to do and carry oxygen to her organs and the rest of her body.  Now they just needed to find out why.  This led to a bone/bone marrow biopsy to test for cancer and other diseases that could be causing the low levels on her hemoglobin.  She went in for the procedure, and from the blood draw that they did prior to the procedure to the blood draw after the procedure her hemoglobin dropped dramatically.  It was a 2.9 (normal is 11.5 - 15.4), which led to a decision to admit her to the hospital and give her 3 units of blood and an iron transfusion.  Tests from the biopsies have come back and she does not have any cancer cells (one prayer answered), but does have a blood disease that they have not encountered before. Her Dr calls her a little mystery.  A team of specialists will now meet and look over all of her labs and decide a course of treatment.

She has been very tired and fatigued and weak and it is difficult for her to do the things she loves. She has a designated rest area at school for when she is fatigued.  It was so bad one day that her teacher actually had to call her Mom to pick her up.   She was so weak she could barely walk.  She is doesn't have the energy to play the sports she loves. It is hard for her to stand in the kitchen to do her most favorite thing, cooking and baking for those she cares most for.  Her immune system is so low that if they are not careful she could get even the slightest cold and not be able to fight it.  That has limited her ability to hang out with her friends and family.  Through it all she has remained positive and hopeful.

Which brings us to why we are asking for Help for Montana's Medical Expenses.  Montana's Mom has had to pay over $3,000 upfront for all of the hospital stays, tests, and transfusions.  That has put them behind on bills.....Mortgage payment, car payment, etc.....and she still has a long road ahead of her.  The money raised will go to help them pay medical down payments and medical bills, for future visits as they come.  Funds will also go toward groceries, mortgage payments, and car payments so they will be able to keep a roof over their heads and get back and forth to Dr. appointments.

Please help us help Montana and her family.  Please pray that they find out what is casing this and that there is a treatment to get her back to all of the things she loves.
