Help with medical expenses
Over the last three years studio owner and resident artist Moncho has overcome many health challenges. The last three years consisting of multiple surgeries, doctors visits, and uncertainty.
A sudden chest pain while surfing revealed he was experiencing a heart attack, cardiac echo and chest x ray later showed a prolapsed aorta unable to profuse necessary oxygen throughout the body.
He had his answer, but would then spend countless hours dealing with insurance companies and doctors that didn't believe it was "bad enough" yet to operate. Until his surgeon finally agreed to do the surgery.
Over the last year he underwent mitral valve ablation, collapsed aorta repair with angioplasty, and pacemaker. His last surgery almost didn't happen, being at the mercy of prior authorizations, and our broken healthcare system.
Finally, he got the surgery he needed, but he is still in many ways recovering. After his last surgery he wasn't able to take bookings, leading to additional financial stressors. He is a dedicated father, mentor, artist, and our dear friend. You can see him light up whenever he talks about art, tattooing, or the clients that keep our business alive . He's given so much to us, as a teacher, and a place to learn and grow.
