Help with Mochi's medical costs

Donation protected
I'm writing to you today to ask for your help. My friend, Phi, has a dog named Mochi who is a sweet and playful Pomeranian that was injured in a bad accident on Thanksgiving Day while the family was out of town on an international trip for a family wedding. Mochi is only 4 months old and weighs 4 lbs. A family friend who was watching her accidentally left the gate open at the top of the stairs, so she took a long and hard fall down the stairs onto the hardwood floor. She hit her head very hard and fell into a coma immediately after the accident. She was rushed to the nearest veterinary hospital for treatment in the Atlanta area, but they were not accepting new patients. Phi and her family called around to the nearest hospital that could perform emergency surgery on her, and she was rushed to Auburn University's veterinary clinic, which was 2 hours away. They performed surgery on her to remove loose skull fragments and to address swelling. Mochi currently has damage to the brain tissue and a broken leg. The doctors do not know at this time if the brain damage is permanent or temporary. She will be closely monitored, and the doctors will do an assessment to see if the brain damage will heal. They have not worked on Mochi's leg yet because they are trying to assess the brain damage first. Mochi also cannot eat regularly and is being fed via a tube through her nose and also through IV lines. Mochi has a long road to recovery and would appreciate all of the prayers and help that you can provide.

Phi and her family are animal lovers who consider their pets family. They have two daughters, Milan (11) and Sydney (13) and have two other dogs in the home. A Yorkie and another Pomeranian. Milan purchased Mochi with her own hard-earned money that she worked over 2 years to save. Milan and Sydney have been passionate about animals since they were toddlers. Since 2015, they have worked with Inspire Pet Rescue and Reach Out Rescue & Resources to help dogs in need. They extend housing to homeless dogs and rescue them from kill shelters. The foster dogs live with the family inside their home until a suitable home can be found for them. The length of time can range from 2 weeks to a year to find a suitable home for the dogs. Milan has not been the same since Mochi's accident and blames herself for what happened. The girls have been very sad since the accident and are praying for her to make a speedy recovery and to come home.

Mochi is not just a pet, but a member of the family. She is a loyal, loving, and playful dog who deserves a chance to live a healthy and happy life. The donation that we are asking for will go towards Mochi's medical bills, rehabilitation, and travel costs to see Mochi until she can be brought home. The doctors have estimated it could take a few weeks to months before she can go home. So far, the medical bills have amounted to $15,200. This includes the brain surgery, Xray, MRI, and hospitalization in the ICU. The leg surgery will be an additional $3,000-$5,000. Each day that she is in the hospital will cost $400-$500. If a medical ventilator is needed due to inability to breathe on her own, the cost of that will be an additional $15,000.

That's why I'm asking you to please donate whatever you can to help Phi and her family pay for Mochi's treatment. Every dollar counts and will make a difference. Please also share this message with your friends and family who might be interested in helping.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion. Together, we can save Mochi and give her the best gift possible: a happy second chance at life.
