Help with Mitch's Medical Bills
Donation protected
My brother went to work, and while at work he hurt his shoulder, that didn’t stop him from showing up to work on Monday morning. Unable to lift his arm, he left work and went to Urgent Care. The doctor took some x-rays and told Mitch that it looked like an impingement and told him, he should follow-up with an Orthopedic doctor. While at Urgent Care, he asked for a Covid test, because he had a fever, chills and no appetite; food tasted too sweet or too salty. The test came back positive.
The following day he went to see his Orthopedic doctor. The doctor immediately requested an MRI, which Workman’s Comp denied. Mitch was sent home with pain killers; he was in so much pain he was taken to Regina Hospital by Cara, because he couldn't drive himself. Regina transferred him to Abbott Hospital. Abbott discovered he had a torn rotator cuff, and infection in both his shoulders, not knowing why. He had surgery on both his shoulders to scrape out the infection. The doctors discovered that the infection was in his bloodstream. It was sepsis. He was very lucky they found it when they did. He had many tests to make sure it hadn't damaged any major organs. He was in the hospital for two weeks.
Two weeks later the hospital transferred him to Regina Transitional Care for Occupational and Physical therapy, just so he could walk without a walker and to lift his arms above his waist. He was informed that his job would be laying him off, and wouldn’t be hiring him back, once he recovered, they also denied his claim for Workman's Comp. He has no income coming in to pay his medical bills or just to pay everyday living expenses.
I am asking for your help; any donation would be greatly appreciated. I don't know when or if he will be able to work again. He is trying very hard to get back to normal.
Thank you for any help.
