Hi everyone, as most of you know my name is Gina! Three months ago I adopted and very quickly fell in love with my cat, Miso. I mean it when I say this little guy saved my life. Through stressful nights of school, difficulties with my mental health, and just the battles of everyday life, Miso has been my support system. He has given me a reason to get up every morning and keep pushing, even when things feel impossible.

I was not aware of any medical issues Miso had when I adopted him, in fact I was told he was a perfectly healthy kitty. However, when Miso came home with me things began to spiral quickly and I brought him to the vet a few days after. He was then diagnosed with feline herpes (flare ups are common and puts him at risk to infections), feline eosinophilic granulation complex (a life-long skin disease which needs to be treated with steroids), and food allergies to most proteins (except duck), which makes his food more expensive than most other brands.

My Miso has gone through so much in such a short time (he is still only a kitty!), and with his weakened immune system we are visiting the vet too often for a graduate student to handle.

I want to emphasize that I knew adopting a cat would come with expenses; however, with so many unexpected illnesses, I am struggling to keep up with the medical bills. Miso had already been re-homed twice before finding his forever home with me - so I cannot fathom giving him away. Anyone who knows me knows that Miso is one of the best things to ever happen to me, which is why I refuse to give up on him.

I've never been one to ask for anything from friends or family, but I could really use some help with medical expenses for Miso. Any donation given will go straight into a separate account, used only for Miso's bills. Any little bit helps, and both me and Miso would be eternally grateful.
