Help with Michael Mikowski's final affairs

Dear friends, family, and friends of Michael Mikowski
With a very heavy heart we share the passing of our cherished Michael Mikowski. As a dearly treasured family member, friend, companion, confidant, aficionado, and all-around connoisseur of life and love, Michael embodied the spirit of each, enriching so many in his all-too-few years on Earth. We have all no doubt shared many aspects of his passions for music, travel, food, drink, conversation, reading, humor and conviviality. Michael allowed us all to enjoy each so much more than we otherwise could have without his indefatigable company. May the resounding void he leaves in our hearts be allayed by the understanding that we are all better people for having had him play an enthusiastically unique role in our lives.
There is an old Yiddish saying generally translated as “Man Plans, and God Laughs.” During moments of deepest reflection, we know we should plan for our own passings. But death often comes on a silent steed – as it did for Michael – shocking those left behind, most notably family. Indeed, Michael’s niece Bryana, nephew Matthew, brother-in-law Rick, grandnieces Jessica and Kamryn and grandnephew Wyatt were as surprised by his passing as we were.
We have therefore established this fund to assist Michael’s family in meeting the financial burden of his final expenses. Trust in knowing these donations will be used to help settle his affairs and to cover what would otherwise be the family’s expenses in laying Michael to a peaceful rest. Many other estate-related expenses are either waived by friends undertaking these responsibilities or paid for by the same. Any and all donations received above the family’s expenses will be given without restriction to the family upon closure of this fundraising effort.
As some of Michael’s dearest friends, we thank each and every one of you who can make even the most modest donation. For those who cannot, we fully understand. Regardless, we hope all of you. However, you may have known our beloved Michael, and will keep him alive in your hearts.
