Help With Mia's Medical Bills
Donation protected
I am a neighbor and good friend of Ashley & Alan Lyphardt & I am posting on their behalf to try and raise some funds for their dog Mia. On Sunday January 24th Mia got out of her fenced backyard and wasn't found until this morning February 1st a week later. Alan, his family, many friends and good Samaritans helped out in the search physically going into the woods and driving around everyday all day and posting probably a 1500 missing posters. I personally watched the family's heartbreak and desperate frantic search for Mia. We do not know the full extent of what she went through this last week but when we did find her she was very emaciated, cuts and scratches all over body, two severe eye infections, and worst of all a limp that we now know is a fractured hip that was caused by being hit by a car and that she needs surgery on. We believe she was in the woods injured not moving much and we have no idea how she got the strength to make her way back out to the road where people called Alans phone from the posters immediately to tell him. She was rushed to Firgrove vet in Puyallup where she is currently and where she will undergo surgery tomorrow and hopefully be home with the family this week. The vet bill so far is a few thousand dollars and that's not counting the further treatment that she will need. I don't even know how to describe the emotions everyones has felt today. Happiness seems too light of a word. Having Mia come home ALIVE after a week in very cold weather injured with no food or water is nothing short of a miracle. I believe it was Alans intense dedication and no sleep for over a week getting up every morning and not coming home until late at night and putting signs on every post available and door to door knocking that ultimately brought her home. We are so incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love from people all over who have asked for updates and prayed for her to come home. Everyone please hug your fur babies extra long tonight. Firgrove has been amazing and let us go say goodnight to Mia tonight. Any donation would be so greatly appreciated to help this family. We will keep everyone updated on Mia's progress.
