Dear friends,
Gabriel and I (Ellie) recently took our beloved Meow to the vet for a check-up because she wasn't feeling like herself. The initial blood tests came back okay, but unfortunately, Meow had to go back to the vet. This time, her blood test results showed that she has Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a serious virus that requires daily treatment to fight.
The estimated cost of the treatment is around 10 million VND, which we've confirmed through a friend in Hà Nội who owns cats and reassured us that it's a reasonable price and from a reputable source.
As I'm currently in Taiwan for my visa run, Gabriel is handling all the logistics and will begin Meow's treatment starting on January 5th. However, this unexpected medical cost is a lot for us to manage at the moment. The immediate cost for the first round of treatment is 3 million VND, and we've already paid 1.4M VND for her blood tests so far.
We know not everyone is in a position to, but if you are able to contribute even a small amount towards Meow's treatment, we would be incredibly grateful. ❤️❤️
Meow was rescued by the Lake View volunteers and spent a few months at the hostel before coming to live with us in Long Bien. We’ve gotten her fully vaccinated and, like any pet parent, we want to give her the best.
But Gabriel is soon leaving for Brazil and won't be employed, so he needs to save as much as possible, and I wasn't prepared for such a high unexpected cost either. This treatment is going to take a significant portion of my earnings.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can offer. It means the world to us.
Let’s all hope for Meow’s speedy recovery.
With love and gratitude,
Ellie & Gabriel
