My name is Heather and I am good friends with Lori Blackmon, who is Melissa Blackmon’s bereaved mother. All funds will go directly to Lori so that she may give her lovely daughter a proper burial, as the family does not have the funds to do so.

Melissa Blackmon’s life unexpectedly ended and she went to heaven on Tuesday, 22 July 2025. Melissa was sweet, intelligent, caring, loving, giving, and faithful. She was a nurse at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Melissa was close to her family and loved her mother, brother, nieces, her sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, cousins, and her late father so much! She had two dogs, Tito and Toasty, with whom she loved to cuddle while watching Cleveland baseball and Indiana Pacers games. Melissa felt so much satisfaction in her work helping patients at Eskenazi, and all her colleagues were like family. Her best friend June was always by her side. Melissa loved the lake, the sun, and playing sports. Heaven may have a new angel, but she is sorely missed here on earth!
