Troy or Double T just turned 50 in January- he is battling congestive heart failure. He is a son- a husband-a father to 9 and grandpa to 10
am uncle. he has alway been very active with his family, tribal community and community in which we live- he has been a friend ,a coach, a foster parent and friend. He loves his family - hunting and fishing playing softball and coaching little league and Babe Ruth
Troy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in November 2018- his left side of his heart was functioning at 30%- we began the journey with his cardiologist team thinking things would improve - 3 months later he had a follow up echo gram on his heart to find it was down to 17% function. In July of 2019 a pacemaker and defibrillator were placed. Hoping this would help. In November 2019 he was admitted into the hospital another echo gram showed he was then functioning at 12%. His Heath started rapidly declining the beginning of March - he was admitted into hospital and 30 lbs of fluid was taken off of him and we found out his heart is functioning at 9/10% and also has heart failure on the right side also. We were told he was in the final stages of heart failure —He was in the hospital for 8 days and within an hour of release started to decline a day later we thought he had a seizure which now they feel was a cause or not enough oxygen flowing to his brain- he was admitted back into the hospital where they found lesions on his brain. We were blessed that a cardiologist was not willing to just give up on him and started to treat him aggressively- we were told he was not a candidate for a Lvad which is a internal pump to pump his left side of his heart and would only have weeks to live. Thankfully he became stable enough for the doctors in San Francisco to look at him. While in San Francisco Troy went into cardiac arrest and had to be shocked- when medications would not stabilize him they took him in and placed a balloon pump in his heart. On April 28th they placed an lvad device into Troy. He is being given a chance❤️ This is going to be a long road to recovery. Once he is released he will have to travel weekly to San Francisco for doctors appointment for approx 3 months then every other week for a few more months then monthly. It is not easy to ask for help but Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated and used towards travel to doctors appointments, medical expenses and bills.
